Senior
Team Practice
Mon,Wed 3-6pm*; Tues, Thurs 3-6:15 pm; Fri 3-6pm; Sat 7-10:30am
plus Mon, Wed 5-6:30am for select swimmers
Hugh
Convery will coach Sr team. The first weeks, practices may let out a little
early some nights. After the fourth week
I designate swimmers as Sr 1 or 2. Senior
1 will do double M and W. Those with
good attendance may get out early on Wed PM.
We will also have two eight
groups so half the group will have to do weights after practice on T, Th
meaning they would arrive about 3:45 and get done around 7:15pm.
Attendance
Senior swimmers are expected at every practice. 90% attendance is required to be in Senior
1. 85% is required for many meets and
activities.
You should all have a meet schedule. All swimmers are expected to attend meets for
which they are eligible. To be entered
you must send in a meet entry request.
As a courtesy, parents should send back any meet slip they receive,
noting whether to enter or not enter the swimmer. These notes will be due by a
published deadline about two weeks before each meet.
The year is divided
into two seasons. Short Course season is
Sept – March. Long Course is April
–August. Every swimmer should have a
special “focus” meet at the end of each season.
Because SC season is so long we usually have a big meet in December as
well. Meets are as important to
improvement as practice. I have always
felt that I do my best coaching at meets - after the event, when swimmers can
get feed back on ways to improve next time.
