Swim-A-Thon 2018 In the Books
12/4 - All the groups have now finished their swims for the 2018 Swim-A-Thon and now all that's left is to finish collecting the money and for the last couple swimmers to make up their swims.
The honor of most improved group goes to Gold this year, dropping 22 seconds per 100 over last year's swims and 8 seconds/100 better than last year's Gold group! All of Blue team's results aren't in yet but it looks like they'll be 2nd and Prep and HSTG neck and neck for third.
Currently we have raised just over $12,000 toward our goal of $25,000*. But only about 50% of the team has participated. All money is due in by next Monday so we hope the remaining families will join in by then.
*not all funds will be reflected in the on-line total. Facebook, check and cash donations will only be added if they bring the swimmer over one of the national Swim-a-Thon prize thresholds.

GaGa Seventh at Age Group State!
Saenz wins 2 events; Misner, Yin break 2 team records
7/23 - Our 14&U swimmers had their highest finish ever at the 14 and Under State Championships held last week at Ga Tech, finishing 7th overall and 2nd among the Medium Teams Division. Individually the team was led in scoring by Issac Saenz, who won 2 events, and eight other swimmers who scored: Dylan Yin, Marlow Misner, Baylor Stanton, Carly Miller, Graham Simmon, Grace Fleming, Jeffrey Xu and Andy Zhu.
Marlow Misner and Dylan Yin each broke a club record, Yin his own 100 fly record and Misner broke the 50 fly record previously held by Lauren Diehl. Saenz picked up his first AAAA while Misner, Simmon and Zhu each got their first AAA's of the season. Caitlyn Diehl, Carly Miller, and Sofie Rees all got their first AAs while Janelle Mitchell got her first A times.
And our Ga-Ga Relays again really made a difference, scoring a lot of points and setting four New Club Records.12&U girls Misner, Fleming, Nia Fraser and Hannah Claire Jowers broke the 200 free record. 12&U boys Saenz, J. Xu, Max Inlow and Freddy Xu broke the 400 Medley record, 14&U boys Yin, Zhu, Simmon and Nolan Patterson broke both 200 and 400 Medley records.
And of course, we couldn't mention Age Group State without a HUGE THANK YOU to all our parents (and swimmers) who helped us run the meet! While we struggled a little more this year than in the past to fill-up our volunteer slots, there were quite a few families who gave up so much of their time to make this meet a success: in the hospitality room, as officials, or on deck as timers, runners, and a variety of other jobs! Once again we heard tons of positive feedback from other teams, and have maintained our great reputation as an organization that does things right - and deservedly so!

GaGa Seniors Roll at High School State, County Champs
2/6 - While last weekend was a regular training one for most of our swimmers, our Senior and HSTG swimmers were tearing up the lanes at Georgia Tech at the Georgia High School State Champs! 16 Ga-Ga swimmers qualified for the meets (large school and small schools run two separate meets). With the meets being run in a different format this year - bringing back 30 swimmers instead of 20, not locking in finals, and scoring schools separately based on their divisions, it is hard to make a meaningful comparison with our past performances. However, we can confidently say that this year's group stepped up to represent their schools - and Ga-Ga as well!
Juliana Carey(2x), Wesley Carter, Drew Grier(2x), Griffin Hammett(2x) and Sarah Jahns all scored top-10 finishes, while Lauren Diehl and Charlie Fountain both scored in the top-20. In total, Ga-Ga swimmers had 11 scoring swims, with most of them in the top 10. Grier also swam in 2 winning relays for Brookwood. Congrats once again to all, especially to the members of Brookwood Boys' and Girl's teams, for sweeping the meets in the 7A division!
GaGa Fun Meet
1/20 - Nearly 30 GaGa swimmers competed in today's fun meet. It was a great chance to see these swimmers compete and get them some feedback as they prepare for the upcoming GA Winter Qualifier in February. Kayla Deckers even picked up her first BB time. View results using the link below. Please note the "Improv" column is using a very difficult conversion off the swimmer's best yard times so if they are close it was a good swim.
Gwinnett Aquatics Seventh at Eastern Classic, 11-14s Kick off year at Coaches Invite
1/15 - Gwinnett Aquatics started the new year with squads at two different meets: the Eastern Classic at Dynamo and the Coaches Invite at Mountain View. He combined with Sarah Jahns (the only event winner), Juliana Carey, Drew Grier and Griffin Hammett as the team's five medalists and 10 other top-10 finishers while 19 others contributed individual scoring swims. Nolan Patterson and Ryan Haskins got their first AA's of the season. Jarod Disher and Graham Simmon got their first As, while Carly Miller got her first BB time.
Meanwhile at the Coaches Invite Ella smith got her first A time while Ella Moulder and Kylie West got her first BB times and Delaney Benford her first ever B time.
